You have purchased a prayer plant but need help determining where to place it. Let’s decide where it goes because, trust me, it matters!
There are many locations where your prayer plant could live, but most people need to learn how to choose the correct spot for their new leafy friend.
Even if it took me some time to identify the ideal locations, I don’t regret owning this intriguing plant. I was happier when there was some greenery in the house.
I’ll show you where to plant a prayer plant so you don’t have to go through the trouble I did.
Here are my 5 favorite places that my prayer plant loved.
6 Best Places to Put a Prayer Plant
1. Keep It Next to a Window
Your home’s windows will receive varying amounts of light simply because of where the sun shines on each one.
For people living in the Northern Hemisphere, the window facing east will receive 5 hours of morning sunlight as the sun rises, while the window facing south will receive sun for the majority of the day, roughly 8–12 hours.
To meet your plants’ light needs, you can place them in different windows. But remember not to put them in direct sunlight as it could scorch the plant.
2. Take it to Your Kitchen
Want a kitchen plant that will turn heads? Why not give praying plants a try?
Kitchens could be more than simply a location to prepare food; add some flair by tastefully accentuating them with prayer plants. A kitchen is typically a hotter space with a little bit more humidity. People don’t usually think about the fact that plants can indeed flourish in a kitchen.
Your plant can make the kitchen more lively in situations like these and even be a fantastic showstopper that your guests will enjoy if you invite them for a special meal.
3. Place the Prayer Plant in the Bathroom
Don’t be afraid to have prayer-plants in the bathroom! Plants frequently evoke a strong sense of cleanliness, tranquillity, and freshness. Who wouldn’t want to experience that in a bathroom?
Because this is likely the most humid area of your home, prayer plants would be the best choice since they need less light than other indoor house plants and thrive in moist environments.
If the plant does not currently receive any light, it is also an excellent idea to move it occasionally to a window to receive some indirect sunlight and grow.
4. Put it in the Living Room
You typically spend the majority of your time in the living room. Consequently, this is the room that you would pick to beautify with plants. Your plants’ lives depend significantly on temperature, humidity, and light.
Before placing the plants anywhere, you should first assess the light quality there. A good idea here is to not just rely on your eyes. You may think there is sufficient light because you can read, but your plants only need a little light.
5. Put it in a Natural Environment
To allow your plant to survive and live a long life, try to mimic its native environment as closely as possible.
For instance, standard potting soil typically works well for prayer plants; however, you should ensure that the pot has holes in the bottom and that the potting mix is airy and well-draining.
Pertile, peat moss, coarse soil, and loam soil can all be combined to create your custom prayer plant soil. Remember that excess perlite can cause fluoride burn, which might cause leaves to turn brown.
6. A Place with Moderate Temperature
The ideal temperature range for prayer plants is around 60 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Lower temperatures for an extended period can harm the leaves and make them fall off the plant.
When positioning your plants close to a heat source, exercise caution. The majority of home heating systems create an environment that is far too dry for prayer plants. In the winter, the central heating will produce a warm, arid climate, which is almost unfriendly to the prayer plant.
You can either regularly mist your plants with tiny water droplets or pack or group moss in between the pot or its elegant container to create a microclimate around their leaves.
It’s a Wrap
Finding the best spot for your plants takes trial and error because the sun’s position changes with the seasons. You should keep moving your prayer plant several times before you locate a suitable spot.
But now that you know the best locations for your prayer plant, you are confident it will flourish in these places.
I hope this post was helpful and that you continue to nurture your prayer-plants.
